This Guy...

My name is Nate. NateWolf and N8Wolf were taken on both Youtube and Twitch, so I had to get clever with spelling and pronounciation. A lot of people mistakenly call me 'NightWolf', but I don't mind.

I am the typical almost 50yr old gamer-dad from the United States. I am a retired FDNY (New York City) Firefighter. I was hired by the FDNY in September 2003 at 26yrs old and spent my entire 20-yr FDNY career working in the Bronx. I retired in September 2023 at 46yrs old. Before the FDNY I was a Firefighter/EMT in the Chicago suburbs in several capacities for 10 years (yes, I started at 16yrs old). I loved my job and I am still very proud that I was able to play a very small part of a few GREAT jobs!

I retired for a few reasons, but the main one was to spend time with my now teenage daughter, my wife (HawksGirl49 in chat) and my two bonus sons. Due to our insane family situation, we split time between our houses outside of both Nashville and Chicago. Additionally, retirement allowed me to persue my long-time interest of being a full-time content creator and livestreamer. Thus NeightWolf49 was born!

I grew up playing video games way back in the in the 1900's (as my daughter would say). I started on the OG Nintendo. I thought I was a big shot when I got a Commodore 64 and started playing Maniac Mansion! In the 90's I jumped over to PC games and never looked back. I cut my teeth playing titles like Silent Service, F-117 Stealth Fighter, the early versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator (when you spawned in with 3 gauges at Meig's Field in Chicago and the Sears Tower was a stick figure!). I also played a ton of the SimCity series.

Currently, I am a simulation enthusiast. I strive for semi-professional flight sim gameplay but since I am not a pilot, gameplay ends up being sub-par and sometimes downright terrible! I enjoy a variety of simulation games including truck sims, farm sims, construction sims and city building sims. I also enjoy several titles in the survival, military strategy, military tactical and real-time strategy genre.

I started creating content on Youtube in March 2019. I added Twitch in December 2023. I enjoy building a tight knit and great community of like-minded people across all of my platforms.

My current go-to games are Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Cities Skylines 2, American Truck Simulator and Roadcraft. I hope to get back into DCS World (after a long break) and add titles like Urban Strife, Forgotten but Unbroken, Broken Arrow and WARNO into the mix as well.
